A Farm To Crag Day with Little Star Diner and Gallatin Valley Botanical

A special Farm To Crag fundraising event for our 501(c)(3) nonprofit where all funds go towards expanding education about the joy and impact of sustainable food, hosting more marginalized communities, strengthening our local food map, and saving the planet! 

Join us for an all-day celebration of local, sustainable food, farming, and community centered around our shared love of the outdoors.

  • 8:30 am- Meet in Gallatin Canyon to either top-rope rock climb, cast off on a morning of guided walk/wade fly fishing on the Gallatin River, or spin through the farm fields on a biking adventure. 

  • 12:00 pm - Group gathers at Little Star Family Farm in Gallatin Gateway for snacks and beverages and overview of the day’s missions 

  • 1:00 pm - 4:30 - Disperse for Farm Projects or Cooking Class - (Register for either: farm project at Gallatin Valley Botanical at Rocky Creek Farm, farm project at Little Star Family Farm, or cooking class at Little Star Diner with Chef Charley Graham)

  • 6:30-9:00 happy hour, dinner, slideshow, silent auction, and community building.

  • Everyone who wants to build and support a community around local, organic, sustainable farming and food in their climbing communities. You do not need to be an experienced farmer or gardener, we are all learning together.

    Folks who want to:

    • Learn more about regenerative agriculture and how soil health has the potential to reverse human-led climate change.

    • Learn about cooking and nutrition from Charley and Lauren from the Little Star Diner, community-supported farming, and how to use policy to advocate for change.

    • Connect and build community with others who are passionate about transforming our food system and confronting the climate crisis.

    • Learn more about Farm To Crag, and how you can get engaged in bringing climbers and farmers together in your community to make change with your fork, your wallet, and your voice.

  • • Climbing, Fly Fishing, or Biking

    • Light lunch at the farm

    • Farm Projects and cooking classes

    • Dinner at Little Star Diner on Sunday, September 10th

    • Education, inspiration, community, and fun!!

  • • Hope and joy

    • Personal climbing equipment (harness, shoes, helmet), biking gear (mountain or gravel bike, helmet, water bottle, etc.) and fly fishing equipment (waders and boots, fly rod)

    • Outdoor Clothing layers (for variable fall weather in the Gallatin Valley) including farm work wear and dinner wear

    • Travel to/from the morning activities, farm experience, and dinner at LIttle Star

  • You are supporting Farm to Crag in achieving our vision, we have established a 5-year fundraising goal of $1 million.

    Not only will we continue to invest in farming communities where we recreate, but this level of organizational support will allow us to hire passionate folks to carry the Farm to Crag banner into even more communities and develop and foster key partnerships with climbing gyms, diverse local climbing organizations, and climate allies alike. Investments are also needed to expand our capacity to host and support more local and regional events, manage and oversee our map and app development and expansion, create farther-reaching educational tools, and boost our capacity to engage more fully in climate-related advocacy opportunities impacting climbers and farmers alike.

    We hope you will join us in strengthening Farm To Crag’s capacity to maximize our reach in the outdoor community and help us build a stronger base of voices for collective action for a more equitable food and farm system and a healthier planet in the years to come.

Don’t delay! This private event hosted by Little Star Diner is capped at 50 people, the group will be evenly dispersed across all day-time activities (activity sign-up at registration is first come, first serve).

We encourage attendees to give big, from the heart. 

This incredible adventure culminates F2C’s Summer fundraising initiative, the cost for a day of learning, farming, and feasting with us starts at $350 (inquire for full and partial scholarships) Just dinner $100.
